Browder Cleared to Travel to US

http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/356774-putin-critic-cleared-to-travel-to-us?amp

Snip
Browder told The Hill that he discovered last week that his status on Homeland Security's Global Entry program and his privileges to enter the U.S. as a citizen of Great Britain had been revoked.

A spokesperson at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told The Hill late Monday afternoon that Browder had been cleared for travel to the U.S., indicating that the department had initiated a manual review of his application last week, which would result in it being placed in a "pending status."

Snip
However, Browder told The Hill that he was initially notified by CBP via email that his status on the Global Entry program had been changed on Oct. 19, one day after Homeland Security says that his application had been manually approved. That email notification set off the chain of events resulting in Browder discovering that his travel privileges had been suspended.

Browder's account triggered alarm on Capitol Hill, with Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Ben Cardin (D-Md.) urging Homeland Security to immediately review the decision to revoke his travel privileges.

"It would be unfortunate if the U.S. decided to bar him based on a decision by those same Russian officials who have been targeted by this important legislation,"
the lawmakers said in a statement.

Browder is a proponent of the Magnitsky Act, which was signed into law in 2012 in order to punish human rights abusers in Russia.

1. Seems like the only time actions happen is when the story gets out to the media

Much more should be out in the news but is somehow omitted until others report it first.

Thanks to the Senators with stopping the censorship of Browder's words

6. Folks, this story is looking like fake news

I found it suspicious about his visa because since when do U.K. or EU citizens need a Visa to enter the US?

Now it sounds like his global entry was canceled. I have global entry. All it does is allow me to skip customs and I only got if after a very in depth background check and paying $105. It has nothing to do with your ability to enter the country. I would not be surprised that protocol is that any Interpol flagging causes an immediate freeze for review.

If anyone has information about it being an actual visa conflict please correct me.

Bill Browder
@Billbrowder
Thank you @SenJohnMcCain for fighting my corner in this absurd situation where Putin has effectively banned me from travelling to the US

Perhaps there is more of what you're looking for within the replies on Browder's own page.

Hard to tell with news as it is anymore. This takes you directly to the man, Bill Browder.

I believe Trump was helping Putin get Browder to Russia where he would be certainly executed.

It is not all that easy to get and easy to lose. But it's loss has nothing to do with a persons ability to enter the country. It allows you to skip customs. I just used it 2 weeks ago and it is very convenient but most travelers do not have nor need it.

Time will tell but we have all see stories here get blown out of proportion.

7. If you read the history of the Magnitsky Act...

This guy was central in getting it in gear costing Putin MILLIONS. Putin will do anything to rescind the act. In retaliation Putin barred Americans from adopting children from Russia. So when you hear tRump Jr talk about Russian adoptions it's a buzz word for rescinding the Magnitsky act...
