1. Of all the stories we are dealing with,

this is what frightens me the most. My fox-viewing mom said this morning that the congressman lady should have just known when to shut up, followed by " that's just my opinion". The thing is, it's not her opinion, it's Fox's opinion. She is agreeing because they are really good at framing and repeating. We will lose everything we hold dear if we don't start buying stations and learning how to play their game.

3. I've been saying since the election that taking back the media should be our #1 priority.

The GOP can run the absolute worst candidates possible, but they'll win every election because they have the media in their back pocket, and they can easily denounce the competition. We need to start playing their game or we'll lose time and time again.

4. Fox is very good at thinking for their viewer who is too lazy

or ill informed to do it for themselves. They have fed their prejudices and fanned their fears for so long that their viewers trust them. It never occurs to the viewer to verify what they are told because they are not suspicious they are being fed BS. Fox is quite good at giving them what they want to hear and convincing them not to trust other news organizations. My experience with their viewers is they are unable or unwilling to listen to anything that conflicts with their trusted news source—
