Updated: Watch: Republican Almost Hits Democratic Senator With Car, What She Says Is Hilarious

Do not try to ruffle Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO). She will remain defiantly unruffled.

McCaskill was leaving the Capitol building late on Tuesday when she was almost hit by a car. The driver was Republican Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado. Gardner also happens to chairman the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which is the campaign arm of the Senate's GOP caucus responsible for working on getting Republicans elected to the upper chamber.

It gave McCaskill, who is up for re-election in 2018, the perfect opportunity to twist the knife a bit. After the near-miss, she hollered:

“It's probably the only shot you've got to take me out!”
