1. It is a nasty campaign

I live in Maryland, and I can't stand Gillespie. The commercials they are running now are just downright nasty, especially Gillespie's.

The question is whether they're registered, if they'll vote, and if they can vote.

6. Some local knowledge- Northam brings two interesting elements to this race

1. He's from the Eastorn Shore. As far as I know we've never had a Gov. from the Eastern Shore. It's typically pretty Republican but as the local boy made good he could bleed some much needed votes there.

2. He's a VMI alum. Very very conservative group but they are also incredibly loyal to one another. Once you are in the VMI network you will never want for a job or opportunities for new positions. Which way and to what extent will they go?
