I was going to do it even before I saw your post. I am going to include a short note telling him the various thoughts I had when I watched him on television.

Yes,, he did put his heart and soul into this and an outcome like this could cause burnout. That's why it's important to know how much the citizens appreciate his work, talent, intelligence, scholarship, creativity, commitment, and his understanding of patriotism (so different than nutcases who destroy in the name of patriotism).

His team did an excellent job. They documented Trump's guilt for all time. He also documented, the guilt and cowardly behavior of the Republican Senators. He knew that there was no reasonable chance of a conviction. The American people, even the ones who will not admit it, know what Trump did, and who Trump is and that is a victory.

As far as I am concerned Raskin is a hero of the first order.

the death of his son. Losing any loved one is hard but suicide - that is rough. He did work his ass off on this and it showed. Now that this is over and he is not kept as busy, I'm sure he has some rough days ahead of him.

Through their diligent hard work, they have preserved for all of us the truth of January 6th. We will always remember them. We will also not forget the Republican traitors who worship power over country.

To paraphrase Lincoln: The work of Raskin and the impeachment managers was not in vain, our nation will have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people by the people for the people shall not perish from the earth.

53. If the Rs were decent human beings who *could* have been

persuaded by reason, they would have been persuaded by Raskin (& the other managers.)

My heart goes out to him for his nevertheless understandable disappointment. Also for the fact that his grief over the loss of his son will probably hit him hard now that he has time to think of anything but the trial.
