Judge Robinson, who is a magistrate, will handle the preliminaries. But the actual trial will be presided over by Amy Berman Jackson. Fox News made it a point to highlight the fact she was named to the bench by President Obama and that some 20 years before being appointed, while a lawyer in private practice, she donated $1000 to Bill Clinton's campaign. They ignored the fact that she served for a number of years as an assistant US Attorney or that she was confirmed for her judgeship without any opposition.
