(31,516 posts)I'm not surprised to hear him use these remarks against Senator Warren like he has in the past. He revels in this type of behavior. It's like the 3 year old who is always acting out because he gets attention when he does so.

(2,120 posts).... all you ever see on social media when her name comes up are the mindless GOP sycophants shrieking about "Pocahontas" or "Liawatha." Non-stop crying and lies from these people based on their shrill, hysterical accusation that she lied when listing Native American heritage on her college application.
It turned out Warren really did have a measure of Native American heritage, but these people don't care in the least about facts. They're still screaming their dear little heads off that Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet.
It's so touching to see their concern about things like truth, given the fact they mindlessly believe the nonstop lies issuing from the mouth (or fingers) of the orange shitgibbon.

(2,120 posts)"Now the Herald has some actual substance on the candidates claims: Warrens great-great-great grandmother on her mothers side was Cherokee, making Warrenprovided the genealogist didnt miss anything1/32 Native American if her great-great-great grandmother was full-blooded (thats unclear).
Warren has said that both of her mothers parents had American Indian blood, in which case the fraction would obviously be a little bit bigger. (Its plausible that some of Warrens relatives would have masked their Cherokee heritage, given the legally prescribed second-class citizenship bestowed upon American Indians for much of the 20th century.)
Per newspaper clippings released by her campaign, other members of Warrens family, including a first cousin, have embraced their Cherokee roots and are active in American Indian causes in Oklahoma, where she grew up."

(24,412 posts)almost seems akin to demanding Barack Obama's birth certificate to "prove" that he is an American citizen eligible to be POTUS. Do people regularly claim NA for special benefits/advantages or something?

(11,175 posts)You ask, "Do people regularly claim NA for special benefits/advantages or something?" The Republicans seized on that idea and argued that she had falsely claimed Native American ancestry so as to get an "affirmative action" type appointment to the Harvard Law faculty that she wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
The facts are that she identified herself as part-Native for purposes of a faculty directory. She explained that she was interested in meeting anyone else with a similar heritage. The important fact is that the issue of her ancestry played no role in Harvard's decision to hire her; she was already a distinguished scholar in her field.

(34,069 posts)They've never (to my knowledge) removed any of his tweets. I've reported a number of tweets that are racist, misogynistic, or appear to incite violence.
For any ordinary citizen, his account would have been removed. They have decided the fact that he is the president makes it appropriate (and open to interpretaton) political commentary and that outweighs his blatant violation of their TOS.
