General Wesley Clark for 2020.

Yes yes, I know it's early, and focus does need to be on changing the house (and hopefully even if a long-shot the Senate) right now. I am most certainly up and involved with that as well.

However, I'm trying to kick off a Draft Wes Clark for president campaign. Hopefully if we can get a grass-roots swelling going, he'll consider the run again. There's potential candidates already being discussed, but honestly I can't think of a single Democratic Party leadership person that could so handily and hands down smash any Trump/Pence or any other Republican running than this man. They wouldn't stand a chance!

I've contacted the general at his Facebook page to let him know:
https://www.facebook.com/generalclark/

I've also created a Draft Wes Clark page:

Apparently the Willie Brown thing wasn't the only affair. Another married attorney was rumored to be involved with her. We won't be able to play this off as a one-off of two people in love when it happened twice. And we don't need a line of married women going on NBC News accusing the Democratic nominee of wrecking their marriages. It just won't play, especially if Brown used his position to help her with her career.

This needs to be heavily vetted before she even thinks of running.

Agree about the age thing, however. Under 60 is the new Under 50. I repeat this every six months or so, so excuse my repetition, but...

Every time in the last century when the Democrats have taken back the White House, it's been with a young candidate:

Roosevelt - 50 yrs old
Jimmy Carter, 52
John Kennedy, 43
Bill Clinton, 46
Barack Obama, 47

Except for Al Gore, every time we've blown a winnable race, our candidate's been older than Carter was:

Hubert Humphrey, 57
Mike Dukakis, 55
John Kerry, 61
Hillary Clinton, 69 (I know she won the vote by a wide margin, but her electoral "loss" was the result of a strategic miscalculation)

History is pretty clear about this: Barring a global war against fascism, Democrats over the age of 54 can't get elected president.

Can't be Clooney (Although he IS extremely bright, politically aware, socially conscious), because I have a friend whose sister's a big wig in the thuglican politics out here in California, and my friend tells me that her sister told her that thuglicans hate him so much, that they've already generated a dossier on him "allegedly" containing things about his sex/private life before his marriage to Amal. I hate saying this, but Dems can't be pussy-grabbers and win a presidency. thuglicans would shame them out of it for starters. Plus, with 2 small children/wife, he might not want to run for a political office or get caught up in the mess that's politics.

Now to be clear, my friend told me that her sister told her that there's a dossier on Clooney. The weight you give it's truthfulness However, something tells me that this dossier thing could be true. thuglicans fight and get down and dirty, and it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that there could be this dossier with a bit of truth in it but containing nasty lies, very nasty lies and nasty industrial filthy dirty lies about Clooney if he were to run for a high political office.

Can't you find some 90 year old to put forward? OH, I know!! Dianne Feinstein! She's already 84, highly revered here on DU, and obviously unassailable. because she wins re-elections in California! Plus, she's a woman. How can we possibly go wrong with her at the top of the ticket?

On a slightly more serious note, aside from the fact that Clark is already 72, he was hardly the ideal candidate when last he ran.
