Huckabee: 'I take full responsibility" for shooting suspect's clemency
December 1, 2009 6:45 p.m. EST
Can you imagine if this was a Democratic Governor who opposed Trump? How often do you think this would have been brought up on FOX news? It seems that any mistake a Democrat makes is never forgotten and any mistake a Republican makes is never remembered.
But I remember.
<snip>Man accused of killing 4 Washington officers had criminal history in Arkansas:
Washington In 2000, Huckabee commuted his 108-year prison term, making him eligible for parole
Man who put suspect behind bars said Huckabee issued clemency at "an astounding rate"
Huckabee: I "acted on the facts presented to me in 2000," denied 92% of clemency requests
(CNN) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Tuesday said he accepts "full responsibility" for granting clemency in 2000 to a man authorities say gunned down four Lakewood, Washington, police officers Sunday.
Maurice Clemmons, 37, was shot and killed early Tuesday by Seattle police. He was the subject of a two-day manhunt after the four officers were killed at a coffee shop as they met before their shifts began Sunday<snip>

OP
We would have a decade worth of investigations and a billion set aside for said investigations.

(100,059 posts)1. Oh god the GOP would have already prosecuted and popped the champagne.
But Huckabee? He has the Magic R next to his name. He can just pray for his forgiveness and Jesus will make it all better.

If you wanted to know how republicans feel about rape, here it is. If you haven't heard of this before, read the entire story.
Documents Expose Huckabees Role In Serial Rapists Release
Little Rock, Ark As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.
Confidential Arkansas state government records, including letters from these women, revealed publicly for the first time, directly contradict the version of events now being put forward by Huckabee.
While on the campaign trail, Huckabee has claimed that he supported the 1999 release of Wayne Dumond because, at the time, he had no good reason to believe that the man represented a further threat to the public. Thanks to Huckabees intervention, conducted in concert with a right-wing tabloid campaign on Dumonds behalf, Dumond was let out of prison 25 years before his sentence would have ended.

Drummond raped and murdered 2 women after he was released.

(8,652 posts)4. I used Clinton because of Arkansas
I know how they treated Dukakis.
Clinton never got into that same situation. So, you can imagine if Clinton did what Huckabee did.
