Simple Questions re: Terrorism and Russia

Why do we never hear of terror attacks taking place in Russia?

Does Russia have some kind of immunity from terror attacks?

Why is that?

Why would terrorists NOT attack targets in Russia?

Who is bankrolling the terrorist movements?

1. Like someone driving a car into a bunch of pedestrians? They call that "Friday night" over there.

Ok, there are some actual stats at the link below.
30 incidents, 36 deaths so far in 2017.

2. I wonder to what extent Russia is behind terrorist attacks, including 9-11.

3. They have Chechnyans who have participated in terrorism

Most terrorists in the US and Europe have had some type of connection to Arab based terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIS.
The connections may be due to immigrant or non-immigrant communities in the US and Europe that have access to those groups.

For instance, Russia does not have a significant Arab population. I don't think Arabs are allowed in Russia. Russia does not have a diverse immigrant community that the west has. Although there is ethnic diversity in Russia, it is not due to immigration.

Western terrorists become radicalized via three methods:
Actual physical connections (being from or traveling to countries that support those groups)
Connections via the Internet.
Friend and acquaintances in western countries. (Common prior to the internet)

Russia probably limits travel. Russia has less freedoms. Russia probably spies on citizens and visitors. Russia also has enhanced security in places like Chechnya. (In the US, it would be not be acceptable to target specific ethnic groups)
Russia probably censors the internet.

The irony is that freedoms in the western world can lead to terrorist networking.
It is always a balance of freedom versus security.
