listed in the Aurora phonebook. So the answer is, we simply don't know yet and we should not say one way or the other.

I'm waiting for more detail from his mother.

It was irresponsible of ABC to speculate this morning.

And my impression is the demographics for the teaparty (and dittoheads and FR too, for that matter) , are that of middle-aged and older people.

This is pure speculation on my part, which is dangerous itself, but the shooter probably didnt have a political motive. He likely was a somewhat loner or social outcast, seeking to be "famous", or perhaps was just lashing out at a society that he blames for his own troubles.

10. My guess is, no. He only recently moved to Colorado according to reports.

A search of "Jim Holmes" in Aurora, CO turns up several people with that name. All older than the suspect.

This was irresponsible reporting by ABC. Very foolish on their part, and nothing more than an attempt to be sensational during a horrific event.

posts like this do not reflect well on DU. I alerted this, but the jury voted 3-3. ABC retracted its speculation about Holmes http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002981800

16. We don't know much about him yet, what if he was a democrat?

Smart kid from Southern California. He is as likely to be a Democrat as he is a tea partier.

Trying to make this into a political issue is sickening.

If all it takes is a dozen or so innocent people to die to take down the tea party, the OP must be fine with that.

Sickening. Please delete this post.

You have implicated someone that is in all likelihood unrelated to this shooting.

Stay classy.

17. The Tea Party IS murderous, but not in this way

We cannot discount the effect the Tea Party has on the collective conscious of the country, which undoubtedly led to the conditions behind the tragedy, we cannot have news reporters from our side go off half-cocked like Ross.

But leave little doubt that the issues the baggers pontificate on are part of the most destructive organization in the history of the world, the republican Party.
