Just voted at my polling place in No. VA.

They had 4 people doing check in and had about 15 stations to fill out the paper ballot. Then, they had 2 optical scanners. The scanners retain the paper copies.

Voted at 7 am which is a little later than normal for me. Was voter #179 on the scanner I used.
Translation: big morning turnout.

Go Democrats!

2. Yes, VA has absentee voting, but you have to have a reason. One of my sons is down at VCU

so, he voted early. They've been publishing the numbers of early votes and No. VA (usually solid blue) has the biggest early vote totals and increase over last election.

3. Heard the wingnut media is frantically calling

all the trump crazies to get out. That's what scares me most...in Virginia and later..small percentage but if they all vote...

5. Yeah, the dog whistles went out. All the people that think the major issue are saving the

confederate statues, stopping birth control, and blocking women's healthcare will show up and vote.

We will only win if everyone on our side shows up too.

If you know anyone in VA, call or text them today. Get them to their polling place.

Every dem vote today is like 7 in a GE. Big turnout would be exciting.

19. Voter Turnout is Heavy in Northern Virginia . .

Which is a great sign for us . . however, I'm wondering was it because of the forecasted rain that is due to start around 11 am . . ?

NOVA, Richmond area and the Hampton Roads folks just need to show up and we'll be fine.

20. The scanner is nice keeping the paper and all

I hate to burst your bubble of hope, and I hope that the Dem wins as well, but just having paper makes not a rat's ass of difference unless the paper is used to VERIFY THE VOTE.

The companies hope you'll feel good about the fact you've got paper, and then just keep your mouth shut regardless of how obvious the rigging is.

This is the situation Beth Clarkson here in Wichita KS is in and others around the country. She has begged to be allowed to look at the paper so she can verify the vote. Maybe those folks in VA, particularly the Repubs, are a lot more honest and fair those in KS but I'm pretty sure they're not going to take even a passing glance at the REAL PAPER, THE REAL OUTCOME.

24. We should have automatic random audits of every single election.

And automatic recounts for close ones.
And only paper ballots should be legally acceptable.

23. Looked like reasonable turnout at my NoVA polling place too.

No line and plenty of staff (only one scanner, but that's plenty even in a Presidential year). But there was a fairly steady stream (at about 9:00 AM).

25. Voted!

My wife and I, voted in South Western VA around 10:45. We have a pretty heated battle for delegate here in District 12 so I expected it to be a little busier this morning but we got straight in and out.

I did not see a line at the Church Hill precinct, which is unusual. Let's hope they voted early.
I'm following https://twitter.com/notlarrysabato and Blue Virginia.
R vote deficit to overcome.
