PLEASE share this with people who ask why Moore cannot be taken off the ballot:

Alabama law says no additions or subtractions can be done 76 days before an election.
The election is 30 days away.

several DUers have posted this in their comments, I felt it was worth repeating for all to see.
Pls. help it be noticed.

Is for the GOP to put all their backing into a write in candidate? If nothing else, that will look really weird and bad for them. I'd also think that if there were major support for a write in, then Moore would be totally sunk.

and they cannot get enough write-ins.

then again, we seemed to have moved into an atmosphere of casual cheating at voting, god knows what they will try.

Alabama governor says special election date won't be moved: http://www.wsfa.com/story/36821044/alabama-governor-says-special-election-date-wont-be-moved

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey says she has no plans to move the upcoming U.S. Senate election in which the Republican candidate faces allegations of sexual misconduct.

Ivey communications director Josh Pendergrass said Saturday that the governor "is not considering and has no plans to move the special election for US Senate."

And, frankly, I don't care because anything they do at this point is going to look awfully bad for them. A delay seems like an admission that there is at least something terribly wrong with the candidate. No delay means there is a good chance of them losing. A write in will divide them in two. You can bet this has them sweating buckets!

That's how Lisa Murkowski got elected in 2010. She lost the primary to a tea bagger, but beat him and the Democrat with write in votes (39.5%).

So I have no idea if there was a close contender. I suppose if there were, then it would be possible for the GOP to throw its weight behind that person. If there were not a close contender, then they can put up a banner at the entrance to the polls "Abandon all hope GOP who enter here".

Give or take 4%, in today's poll.

But here is the problem.....Our new Gov. was Lt. Gov, she got the job when the state forced the adulterous Gov. from office.

The repubs now are very aware of the MeToo" results, so they don't need to be showing any more support for a sex scandal.
Ha, a pun..."more" support.

And not all Repubs. are for Moore. A lot will not vote. That's the Southern way. Don't have to say where you line up about the election, just quietly don't vote.

... a write in campaign might get traction in these parts. But Jones is well liked and will still get a lot of the Indy vote. Dems are pretty motivated here. I think a write in would help Jones tremendously by splitting the republican vote, but I’m beginning to think he has a good chance with or without it. We’re putting a lot of effort in anyway.
