Can the Gov. of Alabama declare a vote for Moore is a vote for Strange?

Assuming that Moore drops out. Even after today that's probably still unlikely.

I know this has been done in states in which candidates pass away very close to an election. The Gov proclaims that the candidates spouse will fill the seat if the recently deceased wins the election. Missouri Minnesota and, I think, another state have done this.

Okay. Thanks. Gardner (R-CO) says if Moore's elected they'll expel him from the Senate. underpants Nov 2017 #3

but if Moore wins but is unable to serve (either resigns or is not seated by the Senate), it would be my belief that the governor can name a replacement until a special election can be held (which is how we got here anyway - Sessions resigned, Strange was named, Moore wins nomination to special election).

I doubt Moore will ever quit.

As noted above Gardner from Colorado says they'll expel Moore from the Senate should he win.

But the republican party can name a replacement and the Governor or a court can say that a vote for Moore is a vote for the replacement.
