Below is a link to a 30-question test to see how well you know US Law. Not exactly grade-school level. Give it a shot, and see how well you do!
Supposedly 96% of all High School Seniors FAILED this test .. AND if that's not bad enough, 50+% of all individuals over 50 did too!!
Take the test and be surprised at what we don't know.

(12,769 posts)I didn't know Jackson had been impeached. Probably should have known that one.
Also, missed the the last amendment passed in 1992. Must have slept thrugh that year.
Edited to add: Yikes, I now see it was Andrew Johnson, and I have never even heard of him. That is Pathetic.

(46,436 posts)Three wrong on the amendments and the impeachment question threw me because I was thinking of a successful impeachment that threw a president out of office, not who had the charges brought up. If they had worded the question differently, I would have known A. Johnson and Bill Clinton.

A couple of them were educated guesses, but guesses never the less. All in all, better than I thought I'd do.
That was fun!

(11,879 posts)Somehow, I couldn't remember the number of amendments, and didn't remember that last one.
Mostly, it was a very easy quiz. I have a hard time believing high school seniors would fail it. I know my kids (one of whom graduated a couple of months ago) learned most of this stuff in middle school.

(114,615 posts)I had a brain fart on Washington's VP and how the hell was I supposed to know where Eisenhower was born? I know it was neither Raygun nor Stupid, but I had to take a wild guess.

Someone please send this to freerepublican and/or the local teaparty chapters; though they would lie about their results.

Honest to God, I don't recall the 27th amendment at all. I must have been sick that year.

I missed the one about "which President was born in Texas". I said the chimp. It was Eisenhower. For some reason, I thought he was from Pennsylvania.
