Just got an email from my local Indivisible group that my Repug Rep Faso is a NO on the tax bill!

Hmmm? First time he is done the correct thing.

The House of Representatives will vote today on their Republican leadership’s version of a tax code rewrite, advancing their goal of scoring some kind of legislative victory before the year’s end. The legislation is expected to pass along party lines, but it does not have the support of every Republican: U.S. Rep. John Faso of Kinderhook said late Wednesday afternoon that he will vote against the legislation. Rep. Elise Stefanik of the 21st CD says she’s voting against it, too.

1. I'm sure they're letting SOME of them

Vote "no" to appear moderate in their purple district. My congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA 08) is a master at that. He even calls himself "your independent voice in Congress." Right.

2. Faso plans to go for Sen Gillibrand seat.

3. I met him one time with my Indivisible group and he seems flaky/smooth/kinda weak

type of person.

Also I see him as not very productive.

4. Gillibrand has a problem of running for POTUS in 2020 and not running in 2018, that is Faso guess.

Also several others may primary her and open the field for Faso.

6. That probably just means they don't need his vote to pass it

If they don't need his vote he gets a free pass because Republicans know that vote will be hung around his neck in 2018. He's my congressman too and yes, I called his office the other day about this vote. I'm glad he's a no vote now but the real test will come if Republicans need each and every yes vote they can get, including Faso's, to pass a final bill.
