are the champions of all that is good and fair. They make us blink and doubt and eat our own and then watch with glee as we slay our own on the alter of righteousness.
I have so much self doubt about the 30 year hammering and outright lies HRC was subjected to, that I didn't do enough.
Voting for her wasn't enough to erase 30 years of injustice.
So, how do we,push back, make noise, and call into question he "outing" of Franken?
It either matters or not that Roger Stone foreshadowed yesterday's events in the middle of the night. Are they so bold, and think so little of our resolve that they can trot out any old kinards and we will bite at their bait?
I believe we miserably failed HRC by not exposing the witch hunt. Remember how the 2000 photo of the supposed "good people of Florida" storming the board of elections was exposed as being GOP operatives. It was STAGED!
Yes, Franken mugging for the photo was juvenile- what if he were giving her the middle instead of mock groping...?

(13,538 posts)I wouldn't be surprised to see "O'Queef" right in the middle of it. Of course they want us all to be defending Al and point to that as a double standard. I think we let Al do that and see what else shakes out. Hannity saying he had that right during Al's senate campaign and it not getting out? Tell me that doesn't stink! Makes me think that pic may have been in a totally different context than what the woman claims now that I know that.

We need someone in Dem leadership to champion the points in your post.

Franken has already lost support - his name is being removed from a bill.

(82,383 posts)any more. And we are not talking about the duller stuff like taxes, health care, etc. Right wingers know that sex sells, and they can distract us with it. They always bring it down into the gutter.
We learned we were wrong that the Orange Idiot could not be elected because he was so vulgar. If he can stay in office, Franken can. If they bring Roy Moore to the Senate, Franken can stay there. They don't get to have it both ways. We have to fight them rather than all this introspection.

A hearing pushes this to the back page, putting it into a wait and see status.
None of this keeps us from being vocal and dogged about Moore, Trump, etc

(47,260 posts)something republicans excel at and as a bonus, it has Democrats fighting among themselves. Republicans know how to push buttons, create uncertainty, and divide their opponents. Democrats keep falling for the same old crap.
We'd better get it together, because there certainly are a lot of stupid photos and cases of bad judgement out there and you'd better believe that the Roger Stones in the world will take advantage of them, even create them if necessary. What really concerns me is if they come up with enough of these over hyped scenarios, we could go back to the place where women, who have been sexually assaulted and harassed will stop coming forward.
Ninga

(36,421 posts)That's what the GOP wants. And a lot of men in power. They truly do not view us as equal. Although I look at the state of the world, run by rich, mostly white men, & wonder how they can still hang on to their delusion that they are superior.
I'm afraid that this will be the worst outcome of all this and republicans will have pushed us backwards yet again. I became concerned when every day I read about yet another famous person's alleged sexual misconduct and pretty soon, no one was asking any questions. They just accepted it at face value.
It is hard enough for a woman to come forward and talk about her experiences. If she feels like she is just part of a media circus, she may be inclined to just keep quiet.
Those "rich, mostly white men" have run the world for a long time and it doesn't look like they've done a very good job. Maybe they need to step aside and let someone else take over.

Roger Stone Tweeting about Al Franken's time is coming the night before and
Ms. Tweeden's ties to Fox and the right wing should have been sure signs that
the fixes was in.
