George W. Bush To Skip Republican Convention In Tampa

For the second time in a row, Republicans will not host their party’s last elected president at their national convention....

....said he wants to stay out of the political fray weeks before the general election.

.....

...a June CNN survey found Bush to be the only living president with a favorable rating below 50 percent.

Poppy, Babs, and Jeb have already announced they're no going. So has Jon Huntsman. And I imagine there may be a few of the not-quite-that-crazy Rs left that will take a pass on the upcoming Republican National Clusterfuck.

The repubs have to distance themselves, as much as possible, from that name for at least another 4 years, if Jeb has ANY hope of a shot at the nomination.

Personally, I don't think there's enough time left, before the planet bursts into flames, for anyone to forget the unmitigated disaster that was GWB.
