Since he admitted to having a really inappropriate affair with an intern and only came clean because he was being blackmailed.

i thought he was hilarious back in the day, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were plenty more and worse stories about him.

I remember Sandra Bernhard coming on his show years and years ago, dressed as if she was heavily pregnant (which she wasn't) and saying she was going to go hang out on a farm in Minnesota with all the other heavily pregnant women celebrities at the time - I can't remember who they all were, but I recall one was Jessica Lange. Anyway, she said that she was going to tell them all that it was Dave's! She made him uncomfortable - the way Cher did when she called him an asshole - and I agree, if you look at a pattern over the years, he can act strange around stronger women and more intimidating to weaker ones.

I always liked his show and I miss it, but he definitely exhibited some peculiar behavior around some of this guests at times.

Most comedians do that and some know where to stop and some don't. I can't believe that Jon Stewart was surprised by anything that came out about Louis C.K., because to me Louis C.K. has that creepy vibe you described.

Franken actually doesn't give me that feeling - to me, he's almost the opposite, almost too goody-goody to the point where he comes off as a little judgmental.

Letterman reported him for the "safety" of the woman he was cheating with.

But the blackmailer never dropped the name of the woman (it came out later of course).

So Letterman really was just trying to save himself some money.

And boy we gave him a huge pass on that shit.

Granted it was none of our business, but Letterman is well known for being like that, chasing women that are in his work place.

I just find it rather hypocritical to edit out Al Franken.
