An actual question asked by Katy Tur during a straight 1/2 of either blaming Democrats or stating both sided do it.
She also stated Al Franked should retire.
I guess there is a price to pay for hosting Daily MTP.
It took a guest to actually state we have a current President who is accused by 14 different woman and that he stated he can grab them by the pussy and get away with it.

I regret that I, too, didn't take his early accusers seriously enough. Mainly due to a snap judgement on their character based on appearance. Does not speak well for the much younger me who should have known better. I did peg Monica in the "consenting" department, and she never deserved the trashing delivered to her.
He paid in reputation, money, and whatever personal costs to his family by his horrid behavior.
However, that is done. He paid. She lost her dream job.
Leave them alone.

Take a good look at the others. They all have not just huge holes in their stories, but huge contradictions from various evidences, including witnesses who knew them and testified against, huge questions about anti-Clinton people some associated with before the claims went public, huge questions about motivation and character. They all gained fame and made money from their new identities as professional victims.
Notably, after reading everything I could about them and checking their behavior on social media these days, quite aside from the truth of any relationship claimed with Clinton, I would never dream of hiring any one of them to babysit our grandchildren or even invite them into our house if we were neighbors.

(8,419 posts)So couldn't see her physical response. The guest made the comment back and included what BC did was 25 years ago and then she went to making her tRump comment. Katy jumped all over the 25 years ago and stated Moore's activities are 40 years ago.
So, she equated molesting a 14 year old to oral sex with a 24 year old, see, both sides do it.
She was truly disgusting.

It started with the advent of sexual reproduction.

Grover Cleveland
Grover Cleveland had a reputation for being quite the ladies man. While practicing law in Buffalo, New York, Cleveland had a romance with a young woman named Maria Crofts Halpin. Years later, Halpin accused Cleveland of fathering her son, Oscar. Cleveland did not deny it, and while never admitting paternity, did send her child support. When he ran for president in 1884, that dalliance came back to bite him, as his opponents rallied around the slogan, Ma ma, wheres my pa, gone to the White House, ha ha ha. Still, Cleveland prevailed in the election to become president (an office he lost in the subsequent election, and then regained in 1892).
Franklin Roosevelt
FDRs paralysis, caused by the polio he contracted as a young man, was no impediment to his desires. Roosevelt had a lifelong affair with Lucy Mercer, his wifes social secretary. The affair probably began in 1916 (before FDRs polio struck in 1921), while Roosevelt was serving as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, with Eleanor and their children away for the summer. A couple of years later, Eleanor happened upon some steamy letters between her husband and Lucy. Threatening divorce (which would have ruined Roosevelt politically), Eleanor remained FDRs partner if not lover. Undaunted, FDR continued his relationship with Mercer until his death in 1945 (Mercer was actually with the president when he died.) Other rumored affairs included his secretary, Missy LeHand, and another with the Crown Princess Marta of Norway. Not to be outdone, Eleanor had her own extracurricular activities to keep her busy, not least of which were probable affairs with Nancy Cook, Marion Dickerman and Lorena Hickok.
Lyndon Baines Johnson
Lyndon Baines Johnson competed with John Kennedy in realms beyond politics. Referring to JFKs sexual voraciousness, LBJ once claimed, "I have had more women by accident than he has had on purpose."

Thats a culture change. Seems women are working to turn things around quickly. I would even say it appears we might be seeing a womens revolution forming.

Before Bill Clinton, Presidents were given a sphere of privacy. That ended with Clinton. I don't blame him for not realizing the rules were suddenly going to change.

(11,910 posts)I wonder how many other women who saw how the allegations by Gennifer Flowers, Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones were handled by the administration were intimidated from speaking out about their own sexual harassment complaints against powerful men.
Seeing that accusers were ridiculed, attacked in the media and subject to private investigators digging up dirt from your past may have had a chilling effect on women speaking out with fear those tactics would be used against them.

After the war was over he dumped her.
Dick Nixon was never known to engage in any questionable sexual behavior.
Harry Truman apparently never engaged in questionable sexual behavior. He and Bess were just folks.
JFK was notorious but protected by the press. By today's standards his behavior would be considered outrageous.
Johnson had some sketchy bathroom behaviors, insisted his biographer get in bed with him while interviewing him. Otherwise just rumors.
Amiable Gerald Ford-know nothing about any affairs.
Jimmy Carter committed adultery but only in his heart and preached forgiveness.
Reagan was first divorced president, at least in modern times. It signaled a new lowering of moral standards. Had their first child less than nine months after marriage-press did not write about it.
He seemed faithful to Nancy. I think he called her Mommy-so Pencian.
G H W Bush just one persistent rumor has followed him. He seems to get a senior pass for his more recent sexcapades-reaching out from his wheelchair to grab women and telling them naughty jokes. Maybe it's Parkinson medications.
Well, I just don't think Clinton is responsible for the sexual revolution or loosening of standards of behavior.
Had he been president in the 1960s we never would have heard about his sex life while he was in office.
In a sense his sex publicity is a perfect-storm product of the feminist movement of the 1970s, the sexual revolution, changing mores, and the free speech movement
The sex-crazed Christian Right railed against all of the above-but seized the opportunity they provided to wallow in the salacious-bless their hearts.
I suspect the Europeans ascribe our sex issues to our being a Puritan-founded nation.

(52,196 posts)His experience proved even presidents pay a price for such things. His agenda suffered, his reputation suffered, and I think he paid a fine and was disbarred, at least for a while.
So what is he supposed to be responsible for? Harassment in today's culture? Hardly. If anything, the whole episode should have taught men to keep it in their pants.
