You know, Trumps father could have joined the greatest generation

But like Dick Cheney during Vietnam it seems he "had other priorities". Fred was born in 1904 just like Henry Fonda who joined the navy and served on a destroyer. While he was three years older than Jimmy Stewart who entered combat as a B17 bomber pilot, he was also three years younger than Clark Gable whose wife Carole Lombard was killed in an airplane crash while on a war bond tour. Gable responded by joining up and becoming an aerial gunner over Germany. Hitler put a bounty on his head. But Fred had other priorities as a developer building military housing and after the war was over and the other guys ran back to suck at Hollywood's teat poor Fred had to endure investigations of war profiteering that continued until 1954. Poor, poor Fred Trump...no wonder his kid hates warriors!

His grandfather was a draft dodger in Germany and when he tried to move back there at one point the German government found out and wouldn't allow him back in.

I don't think a private doctor diagnosis of bone spurs would have worked at the time.

This wants some investigative reporting.

did: he was a little old for cannon fodder and he was considered essential to the war effort working here in the states. My other grandfather was the lead machinist at Goodyear Aerospace.

Trumps grandfather came to the US to evade the draft in Germany. When he built up a nest egg as a brothel owner among other things, he tried to go back to Germany but the Germans refused to allow his draft dodging ass back.

More importantly, Donald evaded the Nam with his phantom heel spurs. Rush Limpbaugh had boils on his ass. Cheney had "more important things to do", his own words.

I went. After my exposure to the draft was over. My lottery number was just high enough.

We don’t know why Fred was there. But given that Donald is an obvious racist Fred may have been in the KKK. Racism wasn’t unheard of among Germans between the wars.
