Also..same site link....Trump Tower condos are going on the market, but no takers.
For some reason, the name Trump is not as lustrous to buyers as it once was.

(55,524 posts)can't give their condos away. All the owners even got together to have the moron's giant name removed from the building hoping that their property values would improve...Keith Olbermann had to take a loss on his place in the building when he sold it.

(7,911 posts)That's the whole of my housing costs. No mortgage, no rent. That kind of monthly rental is just beyond my power to imagine.
And they have no idea whatsoever how disconnected they are from reality. That kind of obscene wealth should be illegal.

(60,175 posts)We do not have property taxes, which are only around 350.00 a year, because we are over 65.
Another argument for retirees to move to the South, I know Fla and Tex. have Homestead laws.

(82,849 posts)Just sort of encapsulates them better in my mind.
Gee, I wonder how much longer they can continue to work for nothing with that kind of housing cost? Maybe they should be looking for a more affordable place?

(7,947 posts)Jared was claiming he had $300 million.
Trump says he has $10 billion.
As Mark Cuban (actual billionaire) pointed out-- they do not act like billionaires. Billionaires might spend many millions buying senators on the tax bill, but they don't hawk water and real estate courses....
Or bother to rent a condo out temporarily.
And really, don't they have 3 kids? If you were rich, would you have a 2BR condo when you have three kids?

(60,175 posts)read that this morning.
As for wealth, it turns out you can claim to be worth whatever your debts are. More loans/mortgages you have, more you are "worth"..
It's like when you read about movie stars "bought a 1.5 million dollar" home. They pay a mortgage same as you and me, not the entire price of the house at once.

(77,271 posts)You sure about that. While i don't believe the number "it" stated, it was something more like $4.8 billion. Then Forbes came along and stated that they doubted it was over 4.
Then the privately held company was recently reevaluated, and the equity value fell over 8 billion dollars.
The truth appears to be that the net worth is under 10 figures in reality. But, i don't ever remember seeing either "it" or any other source say $10 billion. The FIRM had 10 billion in assets, but given the mountain of leverage under which they operated, the net equity was always WAY lower than that.
Sort of makes your point, though. They do these things because they aren't worth anything close what they claim, and they really can't afford their lifestyle of the rich and shameless.
