Carl Bernstein says that after Flynn's guilty plea 'we can put away the fake news charge'

Veteran journalist Carl Bernstein said on Friday that the concept of “fake news” is a minor casualty amid revelations from former Trump adviser Mike Flynn’s guilty plea.

“None of this is fake news,” Bernstein told CNN’s Jim Sciutto, referencing President Donald Trump’s favorite epithet for news that he dislikes. “We can put away the fake news charge once and for all after today.”

In the segment, Bernstein also spoke more about the differences between Watergate and Trump’s “Russiagate,” and in particular, how the potential corruption in the Trump White House is a family affair.

“This is also, today, very much about family,” he said. “It’s about Flynn, and his son, and Flynn’s fear that his son might be prosecuted. And that’s one of the reasons he was willing to be flipped here. But it’s also about the Trump family. This means that Jared Kushner is at the center of what [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller is looking at. There’s no getting around that.”

I hope.

There are some people in this country who need to be slapped down so hard that there is no hope of them ever again regaining their footing. Where they are forced to live the remainder of the lives avoiding people and places, and existing as quietly as possible lest the rest of us happily remind the fallen of their now reduced status as pariahs to all things decent.

Jail them. Shun them. Force them live under the cloak of shame for the rest of their lives.

But if it's not for life then I want them knocked down hard enough that they slither away, never to be heard from again. Say Jared goes but Ivanka doesn't - I don't want her in the public eye with her clam shells.

she is going to invite Prime Minister Trudeau for a private dinner. She can invite him over to see her giant clam shells as a ruse.

Course that's probably wishful thinking. Left to my imagination, I could come up with punishments for each best served to humiliate them the most.

human characteristics such as feelings so I doubt anything will humiliate them. I prefer methods of punishment similar to the Spanish Inquisition.
