(5,591 posts)In Like Flint was a take off movie title of a real quote which was indeed In Like Flynn. Errol FLYNN.
Historic off topic (sort of) alert!!!:
Yup, Robin Hood, Captain Blood, The Sea Hawk celluloid super swashbuckler idolized movie star of the late 30s and 40s.
The original phrase was coined after Flynn (who lead an off screen promiscuous, alcohol soaked and often risky lifestyle) was charged, tried and found not guilty for statutory rape. Google it if you want a very timely social comparison of sexual mores regarding gender roles, accountability and morality.
Men would use the term In Like Flynn to imply they had an easy time having successful consensual sexual relations. It morphed into a term meaning an effortless accomplishment of any situation.
There was much more to the trial than the surface charges.
Was he a tragic, tortured figure or an immoral reprobate? Both?
By all judgments, he was a one of those men who possessed an overwhelmingly powerful charisma and natural magnetic charm that was at tragic odds with his darker and truer addictive and destructive nature.
(Back to our regular Karmic glee moment)

(10,130 posts)Trump blasts those who take the Fifth, but he used it 97 times on adultery questions
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/election/article105178626.html
So there are five of them taking the Fifth Amendment, like you see on the mob, right? he said at another rally in Iowa, though it was three former Clinton staff members who pleaded the Fifth. The mob takes the Fifth Amendment. If youre innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?
I guess Flynn is ok since he didn't plead the fifth!!
