Calling, emailing, texting, oh my! Didn't make a dent.

Massive demonstrations in cities across the country is what we need to do.

This tax bill still has to be merged with the House, before becoming final.

2018 is too late.

We falsely relied on Republicans of good will...Susan, Lisa, John, Jeff...

We can't wait for voter apathy to awaken.

Saying here and now, 2018 is too late.

Ps. I was a two term elected official. I've work on the ground for state federal and local office seekers. I've contributed to campaigns (lastest Doug Jones).

We are in a time of crisis that requires big, bold steps. Either recognize it, own it, or perish.

do is lay down and not get a new Congress to do it. The House Bill stinks even worse.

Democrats need to get tough and pull together.

was on the phone yesterday for 20 minutes with an aide in his Pgh office. I call weekly or more often. I am so disgusted. So many sheep out there are so poorly informed. They just tap that “R” button when they vote and are done with it.

Protests and strikes are great and all but we need to get the right people in power which means getting Democrats elected. Protest movements such as Occupy Wall Street did nothing to prevent the Republicans from eventually capturing the federal government and most state governments.

Too many people these days seem to prefer direct action over ordinary political campaigns and I think this is a bad thing. We need to end the anti-politics culture that is rampant in this country. I am not talking about the OP but about "Americans" generally.

None of it mattered. Only elections matter,if stupid fucking Americans can be bothered to get off their asses to vote. Most don’t care about this bill. Not until or unless it affects them. I hate this country and Americans so much.

but what you said is correct "until it affects them" then possibly something will be done.

We cannot show them we are backing down or doing this

This is our country, or do we really want to be a fascist oligarchy society with that stupid ass man squatting in the WH.

I’m not close to retirement but SS and Medicare will likely not exist by then and I will not have enough savings to live on. Like millions of others, I thought things were finally working out for me. We were going to buy a house. Now I guess we won’t if they get rid of the interest deduction.

16. Massive demonstrations didn't stop the Iraq invasion

30 million people worldwide protested the Iraq war, and they were simply ignored. Our emails and phone calls on this tax scam were ignored, and I believe any massive demonstration will also be ignored.

We need to hit them where it hurts, and 2018 is the first major opportunity (except for some special elections). The massive demonstration has to be at the ballot box.

We need to GOTV!!

And they still have to vote on either the Senate bill or a version after Committee.

So don't give up yet!
