Why don't Trump or the Republicans ever want to know why Flynn lied?

Seems like a good question, right? You would think a president and his political party would want to know why the National Security Adviser would lie about things that were supposedly legal. But not Trump or most Republicans. They are totally alright with not knowing the answer to this question.

I heard somewhere that it's often what the guilty are not interested in that shows what they know. Could it be that Trump knows exactly why Flynn lied, and that's why it doesn't interest him? As to his party, are they afraid the answer is simply one they don't want to hear?

2. They know he lied and they know why.

They ordered him to meet, then to lie about it. Trump is stupid, but he is just playing stupid on this one.

4. I'm thinking his disinterest in this question will be his downfall.

There's no way for him to go back either.

6. Yes. His disinterest, his implusiveness, and general stupidity.

He's already tweeted remarks that link him to the lies. The man is used to skating despite guilt. It worked for him in business, so he thinks it will work for him in the public sphere. Here is where we find out if our institutions are still functioning. He is too stupid to get out of his own way.

5. I'm thinking that too.

And, I'm thinking it will come out. I'm wondering if that whole he lied to Pence thing was a way of acting like Pence didn't know.

7. It was definitely a way of protecting Pence

In fact it was Pence who thought up that excuse. It's clear he knew what would happen to Trump and hoped he could keep his hands clean.

8. Yep!

Their phony story had to meet three criteria:

One- that Flynn was doing nothing illegal.

Two- that Pence didn't know administration members had contact with Russians.

Three- that Flynn lied about doing nothing illegal

9. They're stumped

The line seems to be "what he lied about was legal anyway."

Because, yeah, when the cops ask me what I was doing in the convenience store that got robbed, I always say "I was there to buy a candy bar" when, in fact, I was actually there to buy a pretzel.

Or, screw it, I say, "I wasn't in that convenience store" just to screw with their heads..

I'm just funny that way.

11. Why?

He was working for Trump.

There are two things that get you fired in the trump administration. Not lying and getting caught lying.

14. They know why he lied. Their agenda is more important.

The Republican Agenda. Replace talk of the "gay agenda" with The Republican Agenda.
