Time for Massive Nationwide Protest/Civil Disobedience

It should have one clear and focused goal. To signal to the Republican House and Senate that the American People have had enough. It is time to impeach this traitorous, evil, incompetence cabal. People on the left, right and center can agree to this. It is clear and focused and need not be divisive. Sure the dead enders still stand with them. But they are a minority and cannot hold out against the vast coordinated determined will of the people.

We ought not clutter it with other demands. One thing and one thing is needful right now. That Trump and his minions be called to the court of political justice at the behest of the people at large.

but there are lots of Republics -- perhaps and many as 1/4 to 1/3 who have given up on Trump and see how evil he is. Think of Anna Navaro and many others. There are ordinary well-educated Republicans who are deeply embarrassed and ashamed of Trump, if not of their entire party.

We'd have to make this about Trump and his Cabal, period. Not about all the other things that divide us from them.

but I imagine most on the right agree that folding this administration would hurt the party and give Democrats a shot in the arm at the very least.

In our country!!! They would have to listen to us at that point. If we all marched to Pennsylvania Ave or crowded our state senator’s office and demanded that changes be made or that they impeach the president, I’m sure they would at least take us seriously. We need to remind them that they work for us, not their donors!!!

is that there's too much time between elections --- or maybe that there's no "report card" we can issue when we're really unhappy with them. It's terrible to have to wait so long to let them know.

We need a better feedback system than JUST the next election. They're not paying enough attention to the town halls and so forth (and I fear have successfully worn us down enough that that's not much of a bother to them anymore).

No real checks on the executive other than the other branches. And in a highly partisan atmosphere one of the checks is basically a blank check.

No recall elections. No vote of no confidence. No early elections, as in Parliamentary Systems.

It's no wonder that few recent democracies emulate our constitution. It's was an 18th Century rough draft, and a B grade one at that.

First you have to get them to give a damn. Remember 48% of eligible voters did not show up last election.
Second you have to get them to stop fixating on their smartphones and video games.
Third since they most likely have no clue about any of the issues, you need to educate them
Finally, after all that, get them to remember to show up.

Not trying to be a downer or rain on your parade, just being realistic. Seems every time I try to engage someone who is not a news or politics junkie, i get almost the same answer. "I dont follow that stuff"

And this is why I drink......

willl be the hardest thing, that is what is lacking, or what you said "I don't follow that stuff" as some people may say these people are blissfully ignorant.

is money. Crowds are ignored by them or dispersed. We have only seen a small sample of the non-lethal weapons in their arsenal. They used a few LRADs on Occupy Movement.

The only thing they’ll ever understand is a loss of profit. A concentrated national boycott and strike would be effective.
One only has to recall George W. admonishing us to “go shopping” in the days after the September 11th attacks. The whole system relies on us overconsuming heavily on a daily basis. One day would send the message and a sustained several days would bring that message home.

I’m not too hopeful that we could ever get off our fat asses on a massive scale or maybe I am? Perhaps doing nothing and buying nothing for three straight days is the best we can do in 2017.

I know it would certainly be a necessary show of force.

A fella can dream, still, right?
