The stupid hurts

I have a dear friend who is incredibly caring and well educated. We were talking about Obamacare and she is hoping it goes away. She is convinced that market place insurance policies won't cover any expenses for cancer care unless it's stage IV. WTF is wrong with people?

If this was happening in her family I bet she would sing a different tune.

Her husband is battling cancer (and winning), but she said that they somehow owed $7,000 for part of the treatment that their insurance would not cover. Her husband is privately insured. She blamed Obamacare.

Both she and her husband work in healthcare. I think they were freaked out about Obamacare from the start, and this event simply fueled that narrative.

How can someone be that wrong. All anyone has to do is spend a little time researching what they want to learn about.

It's easier to go along with the narrative they have believed earlier.
