The Pope underestimated his problem just as the press and public is underestimating the current trending turmoil. We won't see the end anytime soon and it will mean billions of dollars in the end.

(12,157 posts)Boy Scouts, Public (edited to change pubic to public-Freudian slip maybe) and private schools that gave predators teachers, couches and band directors a glowing recommendation if they resigned, The same with Main line denominations and especially non-denomination non-aligned independent churches. And then there's the "respectable" military organizations where men in powerful positions preyed on their subordinates. The corporation I worked for many years had an culture where the supervisors and managers had an unwritten right to behave in unseemly ways without any consequences.
So again I ask- What RESPONSIBLE organizations jettisoned their pedophiles? All the ones I know about either protected them in house or moved them on. The former was run by predators themselves and the latter, "just want to limit scandal."

When Bob Jones U faced charges of mishandling problems, they called in GRACE. However the U fired them when that group uncovered too much. After a massive push-back from students and alums, the U brought them back in.
