136 Women Leaders Sign Statement of Support For Sen. Al Franken

136 women leaders who are current and former elected officials, non-profit board members, community leaders and members of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party have released a statement of support for Sen. Al Franken (D-MN).

Here are the statement and the list of signers, as provided to PoliticusUSA

We are longtime supporters of Senator Franken, and our support is rooted in the core values that we share. During his time in the Senate, he has been a champion for these values and a steadfast supporter of women’s rights. While we are disappointed by these allegations, we appreciate that he has apologized and is committed to regaining the trust of Minnesotans. We believe a Senate investigation into these allegations is the appropriate course of action and will continue to support the Senator throughout this process.”

put him, in the Senate. And when the time comes I will support him for President if he decides to run. Or vice-President if Elizabeth Warren decides to run.

I wish he hasn't done the photo. The rest is BS or consensual. I've done civil rights, sex harassment, 30 years. Some say the photo was complicit too...I dunno, but it looks bad.

I'm sure hanging in for him, but unfortunately, the Repubs have shut him up, for not. That was their intent.

Hang in there, Al. I've written him. He needs to know he has a lot of quiet support.

Franken is clearly not actually touching the woman. It also seems clear to me that the photos was a gag taken with the woman's knowledge, most probably by the tour photographer. How else can we explain the fact that Franken allowed the photograph to be taken and copies were distributed to all the crew present including the woman herself?

Highly recommended. Very informative about why he ran for Senator - Paul Wellstone is his hero!

Full of stories of the campaign, re-count, the issues he's worked on, what he stands for, his family - Franni Franni Franni! He really loves Franni.

Full of his understated humour while being a serious book.

I "read" the audible version while on daily runs. He does the reading. He is such a good guy - the real deal.

Have been so ticked that anyone could lie about him as they have. I think he will get through and beyond these awful attack, but he does need to have us stand by him - and let him know we are out here.

He is the first out of state candidate I supported, back when that was unusual. Now, we count numbers and help out everywhere.

the utmost respect.

Lying little racist elf. At least his lawyers were smart enough to have him recuse himself.
He is straight out of the 50s, pre Civil Rights Act, just where Trump wants everyone to be.

He was kind of jerk but not a power monger. Big difference.

And not a sexual predator or harasser.
