By discrediting Mueller and the FBI Trump setting the stage for the DOJ investigation into Mueller. Mueller will be removed from the investigation pending the results of the DOJ . . .indefinitely. Temporary special investigator will be appointed . . .end of story.

(733 posts)The bills introduced in congress have a revew process set up if Mueller is fired. . .
However, if DOJ opens an investigation into Mueller's time at the FBI, could Mueller be sidelined until the "investigation" is complete. Gives Trump time to appoint interim special counsel?
Remember Trump's life depends on stopping this investigation and he is not bound by laws or norms. We don't know where he will go to stop it, but I think it will be "replacing" Mueller.

(111,106 posts)In theory, if Trump were to fire Mueller, the Senate could appoint an IC that would not be answerable to the Justice Dept or the President. The Senate could re-appoint Mueller as the IC. That would be the worst of all worlds for Donald Trump.

I can actually see them doing this as they are to ignorant to be able to conceptualize anything. How stupid.
