He knew Flynn had lied to the FBI, but the day after Flynn resigned, he leaned on Comey to let the investigation of Flynn go.

Comey refused and testified to the conversation before Congress.

Trump then fired Comey, and then admitted to Lester Holt that he fired him because of Russia. And he also told the Russians (!) the same thing.

And then he started to lean on Senators to try to let their investigation go.

And he also is the person behind Donald Jr.'s "adoption" excuse when news of the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians broke.
