Remember what happened to the FIRST guy who said kings were above the law:


At his trial in 1649, Charles I defended himself: ""No learned lawyer will affirm that an impeachment can lie against the King... one of their maxims is, that the King can do no wrong."

The great-grandfathers of the authors of the Constitution cut off Charles' head for that.

He was deposed by the Glorious Revolution of 1688 (which firmly established England as a constitutional monarchy where the real power lay with Parliament, and led to the English Bill of Rights a year later) in favour of his daughter Mary and her husband William of Orange.

It was 136 years later, and none of them were Puritans, even if some of their ancestors may have been.

Besides no one wants to cut off Trump's head (with the possible exception of Melania). There's not enough left in there to make it worth the effort.
