I think we are being played...

My RW coworker was laughing out loud singing "Another one bites the dust" as she read that news that Al Franken had a press conference for Thursday. I asked her about Moore and Trump and she just said: "...they said they didn't do so, all I can do is take them at their word..." WHAT?!?!? yep, she just went on her way. Ya know what? She's right! We are so righteous and pure that we will lose the war to win "the battle of who could care less". So Al resigns, then what? Do we lose a vote in the Senate? Do we get a weak replacement who will lose in the next election? OH boy! Good for us! Sucker a bunch of stupid suckers. We lose because we think they care how good we look, we lose because we are fighting a foe who DOES NOT CARE! We keep bringing Hugs to a damn GUN fight! and wonder why the American people are OK with the other guys.... because they WIN! They win and we keep getting suckered into loss after loss. Good luck shutting up the " them too Republicans", when all they will say is your guy quit because he was guilty and they will just say "it wasn't me." SUCKERS keep letting em win time and again. hmmm... Suckers. I support Democrats who FIGHT. Let's go to court, let's do an investigation, so we can ask the same from the loyal opposition. We should not just sacrifice one of our own for PR we should support them until found guilty!

working themselves to exhaustion already, and many tens of thousands of staffers and volunteers. And same on the Republican site.

Perhaps we should ask who'll be smiling and encouraged before we hit "post?"

But "only the foolish hate rebuke", we are moving down a bad path and just going along with it because it makes people feel good is not my way. Throwing out the baby with the bathwater is a fool's move. I know that the women in the Senate are asking for but they are WRONG! You may not agree and that fine that's why it's my opinion, not yours.

with experts on the front line. I do myself, but I try to maintain some humility and some respect, for myself and for them. Knowledge is power, and even if I knew most of what I needed to make wise decisions...I wouldn't know the rest.

One or both of us obviously needs to start questioning more. In this case, though, I'm pretty sure you should examine your disregarding of your own role in this campaign season. At least, it wasn't what I was hoping for.

If nothing else, though, surely your high school teachers taught you to put an X in the no box whenever you were asked to evaluate absolute statements?

unless you are mr deep pockets

I have no clue what the following quote from you even means

that grabs my attention. What questioning I do usually seems to lead into very different areas from you.

As for the last, agree my thought is pretty badly stated.

Maybe just ask which team, on which end of the rope, we're empowering before we grab the rope and upload our messages? This board at all times has a whole bunch of paid right-wing agents and far more of those they came to sucker. They're not being paid to come here for no reason.

And with all the passion and distractions, it doesn't hurt to often ask ourselves what we want to accomplish. Less blaming all the "thems" and more serious looks in the mirrors?

I can promise yammering about how awful Democrats are won't save Social Security. We are the CREATORS AND PROTECTORS of Social Security. The Republicans fought it 70 years ago and are still determined to destroy it. Simple.

that you are editing your statements as I am replying is bizarre and makes it difficult to have meaningful conversation

This has seperated those willing to stand up and fight for our democracy from lambs who lay down at the first sign of trouble, or naive moralists who think voters reward anything but strength. I think many of us here now have a different idea of what kind of candidate we want in 2020 than we did yesterday. I know I do. This is a time for ruthlessness.

And IMHO Democrats just undermined the whole metoo movement.

If the new normal is supposed to be we now take action based on accusations with no attempt to verify the veracity of those accusations. The blow back is going to destroy any gains that were temporarily achieved .

We are confusing making a stand with shooting ourselves in the foot. I'm watching MSNBC and some talking head is talking about how young people are turned off by him ...WHO cares when they show up to vote I will listen otherwise catch me later. We are giving up a real voice on the left for the 'look' of standing with women.

start writing down the date, time, what was said and how, the person who said it, and whatever else you can think of. This is precisely the kind of thing that most employers do NOT want going on. It's political intimidation and harassment.

If Franken does resign, we the people need a better reason than what we have heard so far. He squeezed her waist?! What kind of nonsense is that? My mother-in-law did that to me and it wasn't sexual or harassment, just habit. She won't do it again because I am ticklish as hell and my reaction of jumping and twisting startled her.

From what we have seen and heard, for his fellow Democratic party members to call for his resignation like they did is a gross overreaction - especially since they've said and done squat about what chumpy does on a daily basis.

If Franken has to resign, the reason has to be a hell of a lot worse than what we know so far.

Stick your head up..make valid points...become an aggressive do-gooder, and you now have a target on your back, just waiting for the right wing "OMG machine" to do its work.

EVERYBODY past puberty has a few "oh shit" moments when they did something they will regret later, but most thankfully end up in jobs where it probably will never matter..

Anyone who has ever been around show business knows how "loose" things can get because of the closeness and lack of personal privacy...lines get very blurry...

I like Al, but now that there is "blood in the water", he's really neutered because of the type of media we now have.

I keep hoping that our guys will learn how this thing works and USE it when we have the majority, but we never do..

We like showing up at a gunfight , armed with popsicle sticks & marshmallows...and then we whine when we get beaten routinely..

My hope is that when one of ours has to leave, we get a strong, principled WOMAN as a replacement..

That;s how the "good ole boy" network shuts down..
