The Choice Between the Parties in 2018

Democrats in Congress are adopting a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual harassment, while Republicans are giving full support to a pedophile in Alabama and the serial sex offender in the White House.

This is the choice voters will have between the two parties in the 2018 elections.

This will help Democrats.

3. Sorry, Vidal, but those Dems calling for Franken to resign based on

two disproven and five anonymous allegations are facing major blowback from our base. I, for instance, have just gotten off the phone with both Harris' and Gillibrand's offices. Harris didn't have staff answering, which is what they do when the switchboards are hot, and I left a message. I couldn't even get through to Gillibrand's DC office so I had a nice talk with one of her staff in Rochester.

I give money to Democrats. All the time. I'm a member of the DNC, which basically means just that - I donate. And I told these people unequivocally that they can a) stop expecting donations from me unless they recant and begin vocally supporting Franken, and b) not count on my support at all should either decide to run for president in 2020.

On this board, Vidal, you see major blowback against these ill-advised and spineless moves by the Dems calling on Franken to resign. Because, Vidal, WHERE are their voices against the groper-in-chief squatting illegally in the WH? Where are their voices against the child molester Roy Moore?

This whole bullshit thing has Karl Rove written all over it. The Republican playbook is if you put one of theirs in the hospital they will put one of yours in the morgue. That's hyperbole, in case you don't recognize it, but this whole 'controversy' is nothing but a right-wing frame up.

And you speak of 'zero tolerance?' I'd remind you that zero tolerance has zero room for common sense or common decency. In this country, we are innocent until proven guilty, and we need to extend that same courtesy to Franken. Because these allegations are going nowhere. They won't stick. They are ANONYMOUS for God's sake.

So, for me, 'zero tolerance' will mean 'zero donations' and 'zero support in primaries.' And that's just what Putin wants, isn't it. Disruption. He doesn't give a shit if Franken stays or goes. He just wants to undermine our democracy and shake our trust in each other. And the GOP is in that effort up to their stinking, immoral, indecent nose hairs. So don't tell me about zero tolerance.
