(2,381 posts)but I feel that I encountered a fair amount of hostility here as a newbie. Thought of quitting many times. I need this place, though. And would like to know how to tell.

(90,793 posts)I was hoping to get back in today to clean out the fridge and freezer (ew), and to help hubby water the hotspots in the yard. You don't really see them, but they steam and sizzle when you hose them over. This monster has grown to 96,000 acres and counting, and the family next door to where we are staying has taken in two more families into their house. One of our neighbors got evacuated twice. Christmas parties are getting canceled, because of uncertainty, foul air, and freeway closures.
Still, we are lucky.
