1. I am of two minds:

1) They're truly defending Al Franken, and

2) They're not missing an opportunity to bash Democrats (regardless of whether it's merited).

2. Doubtful. More likely they are thinking they can use this as a mechanism to divide Democrats

3. Agreed. There is just something that feels very off

about this whole specific situation. I just said in another post, I admit I cried yesterday.
If a rethug had the same accusations and so many female co-workers having defended him from his past, the accusations would barely be a blip on the radar.
In the beginning I attempted to separate the fact he was my favorite senator/IMO one of the very best, I loved him on SNL since I was little.
I also grew up loving Kevin Spacey, but from the accusations against him, his situation was very different. (Sorry if I'm rambling on my second cup of coffee, just woke up.)
