(36,745 posts)Their senator is being forced to resign without the approval of the electorate, or due process. I would be livid if I were a Minnesotan, regardless of political affiliation.
I am not proud of our 2 Michigan senators who joined the lynch mob, either.

(2,571 posts)Al fought for us during the recount against what's his name, the smarmy guy with big teeth.
He didn't commit any crimes, as far a I can tell, it was ratfucking by Grand Old Poliburo members.
Another fucking coup. It's exhausting. I'm still pissed at the GOP for Al Gore, "September the 11th" and Ken Starr. Oh, and Sarah Palin, and Iraq, and the economic crash, and driving to St. Cloud everyday for an hour and half (one way!) that one beautiful summer, and having to look at the stupid hair of putin's puppet, and all the creepy sexual predation of putin's puppet. and on and on and on.

And republicans from Texas on dancing with the stars.
And the fucking PSTD of having to re-live this.
And Wisconsin kindergarten teachers having to swarm the state capitol in winter.
And the republican speaker of the house Denny Hastert, pedophile, elected to that position by republicans. Who now claim they don't want to be branded as the party of baby raping by supporting Roy Moore. Who the dotard now supports and the GOP is paying money into the race. And Enron. And Arnold in CA.
And the interference in 2016 by russia and no sanctions being implemented. And Mike Pence, what a freak.
Yeah, I'm livid

(40,199 posts)Earlier today I had the idea for a headline: Sen. Gillibrand: The new Joe McCarthy.
The arm twisting of Sen. Franken to resign, the unseemly display presented by Sen.Gillibrand waving her arms declaring that nuance is irrelevant, the number of democratic senators behaving like sheep or rather, wannabes following a Junior High School mean girl Queen Bee, along with Sen. Schumer interfering in the selection process of a replacement to represent the people of Minnesota, is nothing more that a sickening display of ugly politics.
Sen. Franken was targeted by an infamous Nixon dirty trickster, Roger Stone. The entire Leeann Tweeden claim requires serious discussion and vetting. The other women who claimed inappropriate conduct need to be vetted. This includes the woman who decided that having someone touch her waist while taking a photo is an assault and the woman who thinks that Sen. Franken wanted to kiss her. These last to allegations are what Sen. Gillibrand determined to be the reason to force Al Franken out of the United States Senate.
Sen. Franken deserves the opportunity to defend himself.

(5,927 posts)Prior to the presidency of George W. Bush, I considered myself an Independent. Back then, a reasonable Republican who seemed to me to be of good character still had a chance to win my vote. Carlson was one of the last of that dying breed.
