An interesting take on Trump's "christian" views of the world. Turn the other cheek? Humility? Compassion for others? Forget about it. Those principles are for suckers!
Trump's views on Christmas is another sign he comes from an alternate universe
Let's talk Bizarro. For those unfamiliar with the DC Comics universe, Bizarro is Superman's villainous doppelganger. He is erratic, impulsive, not terribly bright, and prone to lash out at the slightest provocation. His physical gestures are spasmodic. His skin has a corpse-like pallor. His speech patterns are malformed. ("Me realize that Superman never kill, so me kill lots of people! Them very grateful!" )
Which brings us to Donald Trump. More specifically, it brings us to how the president acts and what he believes -- or does not believe.
None of us can look into another's heart, of course, so it's impossible to know if Mr. Trump is a man of faith. He sometimes makes noises suggesting that he sees himself as a Christian -- but his behavior throughout his life indicates that, if he has indeed absorbed the teachings of Christ, he has done so in the same way that a black hole absorbs light.
In fact, when it comes to some of Christianity's most fundamental teachings, Donald Trump has long acted in a manner that contravenes virtually all Christian admonitions, parables, and lessons. He acts, in others words, like a Bizarro Jesus.

(115,819 posts)Maybe not literally; I, for one, don't think the Antichrist is a real being. But just as Jesus is regarded by believers as literally sinless, and by some nonbelievers as at least a metaphor for perfect goodness, Trump seems to be the exact opposite: he's as iniquitous and soulless as it's possible for any man to be. He doesn't appear to have any redeeming qualities. He's mean, vengeful, dishonest, greedy and self-centered. He seems to have all seven of the deadly sins covered: pride, anger, malice, sloth, lust, envy and greed. He has no actual friends, only sycophants. He's cheated on all of his wives. He seems to care little for his children except to the extent they work for and reflect on him. He doesn't like animals. He rips off people he does business with. He lies as easily as most people breathe. He's just bad, all the way to the bone.
If the Antichrist existed Trump would be a good candidate, but Bizarro Jesus will do.

(1,896 posts)"He says what they're thinking". If all these so-called Christians are thinking what Trump says and does there's a reflection on their character that speaks volumes. Maybe "antichrist" is a good call. He embodies all of their bottled up evil feelings. You know, like the monster in Forbidden Planet.
