knowledge, involvement or support. It comes from insiders gatekeeping new fans perceived to be jumping on bandwagons: "Oh, you love the Blackhawks? Name three players." "Oh, you love video games? Name three, without saying Super Mario Brothers." Often demeaning, it can be used with great comic effect to call attention to the fact that someone may be professing support without putting money where their mouth is. HTH.
