OMG...what a fucking un-presidential idiot

I honestly think this is the first time I've sat through an entire Trump speech, this one for the FBI Academy graduation ceremony. It was very difficult, to listen to. I also honestly thought that all the previous sound bites I'd been hearing on left leaning news reports (including DU) were showing the worst of Trump, simply because they have an interest in painting him in a poor light.

I admit I was wrong....these were not biased sound bites, this is exactly how Trump speaks. He finds the one liner that elicits cheers and repeats it several times until it has worn thin. In this speech it was how he, Trump is the biggest, best, most ardent protector of law enforcement...only he is the champion. At some point the cheering volume reduced to a smattering of applause...he finally quit brining it up.

Trump's speech was full of verifiable errors, lies and phoney campaign rhetoric. His off script ad libbing was laughable, repeated numerous times over the last year and clearly was designed to appeal to the most inane Fox viewer. His rambling diatribes of platitudes that seemed not only shallow but rang hollow never did elicit the hat tossing cheers he was clearly looking up to see...and missed. Even his most ardent audience members fell asleep for a moment.

I doubt I'll ever spend the time to listen to another speech...those sound bites are already barely tollerable, but at least I know they are actually a true reflection of the fucking idiot in chief.

13. I don't think Trump is a calculating person.

I think he's totally reactive. He's not an evil but clever criminal mastermind; he doesn't have a strategy; he doesn't play a long game. He is constantly looking for one thing: ego satisfaction, which he derives from applause and from insulting and demeaning those whom he regards as enemies. But he has no sense of what is appropriate for a given audience so he'll insult the FBI at the FBI's training academy, just because he hates the FBI.

He is a self ,created Reality TV Star and that is all he is. Yes,he is not calculating, but, uses phrases that he knows will pick up applause. There was a story about a Gossip Writer for I thing it is Page Six,who pretty much made his Society Image and she talks about how he Morphed into it.

Again,it is all about Stage Crafting. The Guy has bought his way out of Trouble so many times, that he can do the same again again.

65. Disregard his technique at your peril

Trump is a long-time Con Man. He was raised to be one. Every success he's had involved a con.

His use of stupid nicknames for his enemies is not coincidental. It's a technique, it sticks in the brains of his marks. Crooked, Crazy, Little, etc. Schoolyard insults, but ones that stick.

He understands TV, he understands just how little the average viewer/voter wants to take the time to understand complicated issues, he understands how to play to resentments and grievance , and he understands how to drag his opponents down into the mud with him (which is what he's doing to the FBI).

Most importantly, he understand that there is no consequence to bald-faced lying and bullying in America. If anything, those methods are rewarded time and again - it got him elected. His entire life is a dare to the less powerful: "What are you gonna do about it? That's what I thought. Nothing."

At this point, I put his re-election chances above 50%.

He stood before the cameras in the morning and berated the terrible FBI in his off-the-cuff remarks, then goes before the FBI graduates and says they have no better advocate than he, and that he loves them and and supports them and has their backs. 30. Deteriorating for sure

He used to be able to think of more than one superlative. Today is was just "great" - over and over again. Oh, and he's the only one who is LOYAL to them. He stressed that a couple of times, making sure they got the message that HE has their backs. Just plain pandering. It's almost as bad as asking them to take a loyalty pledge to him, it has the same effect.

He also seemed to be confusing the FBI with local law enforcement. He referred to "men in blue" (FBI generally are called G-men), told them to go back to their "precincts" and tell your fellow employees I have their back (FBI aren't divided into "precincts" and something about when people see your "sirens" (FBI don't "pull people over" using "sirens".

It was bizarre. Typical Trump, but he's is definitely deteriorating.

I agree with you about his cognitive abilities. I saw a clip of him back in the late 90s and he spoke in complete sentences and didn't make grammatical errors. His ability to speak proper English has seriously deteriorated. It's appalling how bad he is. For example, last week when he slurred his words, Pence was standing behind him and didn't even flinch when he slurred so apparently, he's heard it before. Not FIT TO BE PRESIDENT and he's not my President. He's a clown and was placed in office by some shading stuff.

Personally, I think he's on drugs. I don't know what kind of drugs but his sniffling and slurring is pronounced.

Respond to.

Heís working their lizard brains. The faces and little visual shticks he does appeal to people who think in single syllables of resentment. They donít have to engage the frontal cortex, they insert their own words and urges and think thereís a circle of agreement; his supposedly ďknowingĒ eye-rolls and so forth reinforce their perception that they all know something the Enemy doesnít.

Would be interesting to study hypothalamus reactions to speakers and see how CONservatives/trumpanzees brain patterns look when exposed to his style of communication (verbal simplicity, innuendo underlined with visual shenanigans for the suggestible.).

Would be interesting to study other dictatorsí communication in this regard.

I imagine that as they listen, they are all hearing their own speech, as if he is talking just to them. So his actual words don't mean very much, except when he repeats some catch phrase over and over again, "Build the wall", "Drain the swamp" "Crooked Hillary". Then add the eye rolls, facial expressions, and odd hand gestures, it becomes a symphony of anger and hate.

If we all survive this, I hope someone does do a study on how this kind of communication affects people.

45. As soon as a trump soundbite is intro'd, I hit the mute button.

Can't stand him. Can't stand the sound of his voice. Can't stand to listen to him blither like the idiot he is. He can barely read a teleprompter or script. But you can count on him to repeat repeat repeat. And a lot of "incredible" and "believe me" and other crap. And every time he gestures with either hand, I am THOROUGHLY creeped out. Can't help but wonder where that hand has been. And who it just violated.

Maybe that's why Steve Mnuchin's trophy wife sometimes wears fashion gloves? I would, too, if I knew I was gonna be around him. I NEVER EVER want skin-to-skin contact with that monster, even if it's only a handshake.

46. You must have a very strong stomach!

I, however, don't and feel physically ill when i listen to more than a few sentences. I have refused to listen to any of his speeches since Charlottesville. Hair Furor is too crazy, too idiotic, too racist and hate filled, too ignorant and too anti-America to be listened to. I applaud your courage and committment to verify that he is worse than advertised.

49. The first Republican Presidential debate was the first time Id listened to him.

The guy had been a celebrity for about thirty years at the time so Iíd heard sound bites of him but after a short time I was flabbergasted this guy was even considered as presidential material.
Needless to say, my impression of him has gotten much worse. But he also scares the bejabbers out of me now.

51. This is not complicated

Forget the politics, forget the possibility of some cognitive problem, he is simply not a very smart person.
Can you imagine Trump on Jeopardy? Any chance he could score in positive numbers? I'm not sure he could pass a GDE exam.

57. He wears thin by the time his first speech is halfway done.

And worse is he repeats all his hand and body gestures endlessly, like a wind up doll.

59. Youre better off watching Cartoon Network

He never writes his own speeches.
Itís always his first time looking at when he reads the TelePrompTer.
The theme always happens to place him at the center of attention.
When he reads, itís at a level of an 8th grader.
When he ad-libs, itís to lie, brag, insult, or pander to his shrinking base.

62. left leaning news reports?

Reporting biased sound bites?

If a democrat could believe such things, I'm terrified what a republican might believe.

68. Fucking idiot

I think is a common and daily association with Trump. I know those words come out of my mouth every time I read or hear about him.

70. It's like an episode of the Twilight Zone. I can't stand more than 30 seconds of him, but

every time I see or hear this, I am still just incredulous that this pathetic excuse of a human being is actually the fucking president of the United States!!!

77. I can remember during the election season in 2016, when our 'friends' in the media

would play these Trump speeches live, in their entirety, day after day, while the only coverage they gave Clinton was on the emails.

I'm sure you've heard the story that Trump once had a book of Hitler's speeches on his nightstand and used them to perfect his own speaking technique.

Trump and everything he stands for is evil. He and his cabal of traitorous and radical right wingers intend to pull apart this nation's social, institutional, economic and moral fabric, after which they will replace it with a fascist dictatorship supported by oligarchs.

79. He's an embarrassment and is unfit for office. This was evidence before the election.

The Trumpers who have become wise to this, now (though they are few), can't say this is a shocker. This was evident to most of the country before the election.

When he stood on stage and mocked, both physically and verbally, a disabled person...that said it all.

80. What you experienced......

is exactly the reason I will run across the living room for the remote control, just to press the 'mute' button as fast as humanly possible. While doing that, I'm also screaming at the television, using every cuss word I've learned over my 68 years, just so I won't hear one word coming from that ignoramus's mouth. I live alone, so I don't have anyone looking at me like I've lost my mind.

I also try very hard to never look at his stupid, blubbery, orange face with that ridiculous comb-over atop his empty head. I can't stand the sight of him. Of course I couldn't stand the sight of him before he was pResident, either. I'm from New York, and we've been aware of this asshat's antics for decades. He repulses me, and most other New Yorkers as well. Having him as pResident is a particularly horrifying experience for any New Yorker. Take a normal person's revulsion to him and multiply by 10 for a New Yorker's revulsion to him. He's just that freaking disgusting.
