1. If somehow an African American child of Roy's popped up.

2. If one of his victims had been a boy.

7. They'd have to die to stop them from voting for Moore.

And in Republican-controlled Alabama, I doubt even that would keep them from voting.

in all fairness, Jones could have never won without a share of the white votes since African-Americans are an overwhelming minority in Alabama. There was unprecedented turnout from the A-A community for an off-year special election but they just didn't have the sheer numbers to do it on their own without a sizable portion of white folks voting for Jones, too.

Sadly, some of those white voters will be voting GOP next time. And others who cast write-ins or stayed home will be back to their usual pattern.

I've lived among conservatives my entire adult life. Sure, they have beliefs and things they want, but over the years they've been trained to be increasingly hyperpartisan attack dogs. That's the reason Rush used to start segments every day with some version of, "Folks, you're not going to believe what the Democrats are doing now." Whatever came next was what they were to oppose.

These days 90% of their decisionmaking is simply whatever personal rationalization is necessary to oppose Democrats on any issue. We saw that rationalization at work with both Trump and Moore, with fast drops in their approval ratings on news of some depravity, followed by a slower return to high levels.

So, convincing people Moore was secretly a Democrat. And that's all. Everything else would be dismissed as lies.
