So many of the fundy churches teach that the wealthy are morally superior and if you are not wealthy, then it is due to your lack of faith and inner wickedness.

If their Christ came back today, woe be to them.

in heavily Protestant southwestern Ontario (yes, another great Canadian!), so it's quite likely that his religious upbringing followed the Calvinist tradition.
