Agnew said investigators still do not know why the animals turned on Stephens. According to the medical examiner's office, the 22-year-old had defensive wounds on her hands and arms, which indicated that she was attacked while still alive. Investigators say she was first attacked on her throat and face.

"It appears she was taken to the ground, lost consciousness and the dogs mauled her to death," Agnew told reporters. "There were no strangulation marks. The victim had puncture wounds in the skull, and this was not a homicide."

3. Dogs can be schizophrenic. Not likely 2 dogs at the same time.

I come in contact with lots of Pit Bulls and they are sweet loving creatures. Have 2 that were rescued fighting dogs living next door to me. These dogs are as sweet and social as can be. As I said, there must be more to this story.

5. Some are factory equipped with short-ciruits in their wiring.

A pair killed a young boy upstate a few months ago. My daughter's close friend had her lips and nose ripped off last year. Another pair terrorized a nearby neighborhood for weeks, and their elderly owners couldn't control them. It literally shredded a neighbor's hand and arm before it was finally subdued.

I wouldn't trust one as far as I could throw it.

7. They're sweet up until the moment they're not. The problem is,

their moment of NOT being sweet, no matter how brief that moment is, leads to severe mauling and/or death.
I would advise those with strong or large dogs to have a way to defend themselves at all times.

6. You're not kidding.........

If you raise a Put Bull to be a fighting dog or mean, they will be mean UNLESS rescued and successfully rehabilitated. If you raise a Pit Bull to be a pet and show them love and kindness, they can be the greatest companion and family member.
