My State Senator has credibly been accused of touching women inappropriately and creating a sexualized culture in his office. He is a real progressive who has championed womens rights and is an all-around great politician who hasnt been afraid to call Bush/Cheney and Trump exactly what they all are. (128,831 posts)Mine is Art Haywood. And I even get the Inquirer but haven't had chance to delve that much into local news the past couple days after trying to recover from the 3rd snowfall in a week, reading DU (and some other sites), and getting ready for the holidays.
He was supposed to run for Meehan's seat in the 7th Congressional District. We need SOMEONE to take that District!!!!!!

(146,286 posts)people from both sides of the political aisle. Personally, I am for letting the chips fall where they fall. If your "progressive" state senator did what is claimed he did, then adios to him and good riddance.
It's time to clean house in this particular area, I think.

(25,528 posts)I know not a few Rethugs who are remarkably socially generous in their private lives but publically denounce same societally Methinks theyre not really Conservatives.
Point is, what he did for his JOB is what I voted for and supported. The tragedy is that his voice and public persona may be silenced by sick/stupid behavior.

(58,785 posts)and documented by staffers of different organizations. If true, he's done for. It's so unfortunate when people who make valuable contributions turn out to have foolish and/or bad facets to their character.
I can think of a number of charming, well liked men in years past whose style meant their arms and hands would often be around and on the closest female acquaintance, faces leaning in close for a laugh or murmur, little hug to make a point before moving away. Uninvited hand on the thigh would move anyone immediately to a whole different category, though.
