they're in Deatsville, Demopolis, and Covington County.

My mom is considering moving to Tuscaloosa, and was actually going to head up there house hunting that weekend. Yikes!

I loved the pine trees and how all of us kids had so much freedom to play in woods and creeks. We were even allowed to climb the fire tower, where we could see the tops of the trees for what seemed like miles. I remember the guy in the tower saying that spring was his favorite time to look at the trees because there were so many colors of green.

Now I live 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean in California. It's beautiful here too, but today's parents are so aware of potential real dangers that they can't in good conscience allow their kids the freedom that kids of my generation had.
