Houston County sees low turnout in primary election

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) - Nearly four out of five registered voters in Houston County did not cast a ballot in Tuesday’s primary election.

Unofficial results from the Houston County Probate Office show just over 15,000 ballots cast out of more than 80,000 registered voters.

That’s a turnout rate of just under 20%.

Not every precinct looked the same, according to the unofficial totals.
