Alaska law allows for same day voter registration for the purpose of voting for President and Vice President of the United States.

1. GET REGISTERED

Get registered to vote with your current name, at your current address, by 30 days before Election Day. To be registered for the November 6, 2012 general election, you must register no later than October 7, 2012

Alaska law allows for same day voter registration for the purpose of voting for President and Vice President of the United States.

2. WHAT TO BRING

You need to bring one of the following items, with your current name, to the polls with you:

• A signed voter ID card, driver's license, state ID card, or military ID card;
• passport, hunting or fishing license; or
• other current or valid photo identification.
You may also bring one of the following forms of identification, so long as it includes your name and current address:
• current utility bill or pay check;
• government check or bank statement;
• other government issued document..

3. VOTE!
Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

Vote Early

Alaska has in-person absentee voting and early voting, beginning on October 22, 2012, and extending through the November 6, 2012 general election.

Vote by Mail

In Alaska, any qualified, registered voter may apply for a ballot through the mail and completed applications. If you are a qualified registered voter and do not have any changes to your registration record, your completed application MUST be received by the Division of Elections no later than 10 days before Election Day.
