A Seattle teacher is suing the city after a police officer allegedly pepper-sprayed him while he was walking by and talking to his mother on the phone, KOMO reported on Thursday.

Teacher and activist Jesse Hagopian said he was leaving a peaceful Martin Luther King Jr. Day protest on Jan. 19 when he was pepper-sprayed by a police officer who screamed for passersby to "get back."

Wow! Somebody needs to be in restraints. But wait! I forgot! The officer obviously felt threatened and reacted in self-defense. OK, now I feel better. Don't you?

1. If the use of money can be free speech, why can't the use of pepper spray?

Is somebody trying to deny that frightened police officer her 1st amendment rights?

It's too obvious that she was indiscriminately spraying everybody she could. She attack a group of us after she attacked the teacher, and then later was screaming at an older woman for no apparent reason. I'm thankful someone caught it on video--I know I have footage from about 30 seconds after the incident, but not during.

They've NOT been trained or evaluated properly OR are just not suited to the profession they're in. I'm NOT trying to excuse the officer in the video, but there are misfits in every walk of life - just look at the jerks in DC. They do terrible things to this nations citizens on a daily basis - and who takes legal action against them???

All the other cops are just standing around, looking nonchalant. Except for that one cop, who is screaming and pepper-spraying the crowd. The video looks like a rejected Saturday Night Live skit.

The people who got sprayed deserve an apology from the city, and money for their pain. That cop needs to be taken off the street, immediately and permanently.
