Huckabee: Muslims Are The Only Group To Have Obama's 'Undying' Support
Source: TPM
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said Monday that Barack Obama's National Prayer Breakfast speech proved that Muslims are only religious group that has the President's "undying" support.
"Everything he does is against what Christians stand for, and he's against the Jews in Israel," he said on "Fox and Friends." "The one group of people that can know they have his undying, unfailing support would be the Muslim community. It doesn't matter whether it's the radical Muslim community or the more moderate Muslim community."
Obama invoked the Crusades while he discussed the Islamic State terror group at Thursday's event, arguing that Christians shouldn't get on a "high horse" about violence in the name of religion. He also argued that Christians used their faith to justify Jim Crow laws and slavery.
Huckabee disagreed, pointing out that civil rights icons like Martin Luther King, Jr. were Christians.

(64,688 posts)and reported by a corporate MSM that cares little about facts and much more about propaganda to destroy the black guy's presidency.
Huckabee says King was a Christian just to use King's legacy to destroy Obama. Also uses it to deny the reality of slavery, Jim Crow and segregation.
Huckabee reminds me of those anti-drug commercials "this is your brain on desperate hate."

(37,758 posts)Has Obama done everything? No, but he has done lots of work to create tolerance and acceptance where there little to none before. This is a generation that understands more than a lot of people before that 'different' does not mean 'evil' or 'wrong', and I think Obama represents that.
Obama has shifted the discourse to a degree, he has turned it from being that rich/white/straight/Christian/American/male means you are considered the top, the Apex Predator, the Prime Mover, the Maker to being a part of a human network and being interconnected and interdependent. To Republicans and the right, that is blasphemy.
A future Republican will try to roll it all back, every statement and every action, that much is certain. But the extent of that rollback may be devastating on a social level. I'm pretty sure if someone like Huckabee was President, he would not just passively ignore people who are different or the minority, but he would actively alienate them just so they can get back to the idea that they are the top.

(4,949 posts)Huckabee, a likely 2016 presidential candidate, even accused Obama on Monday of supporting radical Islam by refusing to specifically condemn it in his speech.
"Everything he does is against what Christians stand for, and he's against the Jews in Israel," Huckabee said on Fox News, according to video posted by Mediaite. "The one group of people that can know they have his undying, unfailing support would be the Muslim community. And it doesn't matter if it's the radical Muslim community."
Huckabee was reacting to Obama's address last Wednesday to the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

(15,139 posts)Obama's first inaugural the invocation was dlivered by evangelical megachurch pastor Rick Warren, a choice not popular here on DU. The second inaugural started off with an inter-faith service at St. John's Episcopal church at which Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Sikh, and yes Muslims were represented.
When the Obama family attends church, its always a Christian service.
Huckabee is full of shit.

(42,649 posts)is just one of many desperate Republicans who will say anything for air time. That this hateful clown is taken seriously is an indictment of the Republican party for having so little to say and the corporate media for reporting this insanity as serious news.
On the bright side, many no-talent idiots make a sex tape and "accidentally" leak it for media attention. Be glad the Huckster did not follow that path. Can you imagine that visual?
